Newly Elected Officials

Congratulations to the newly elected officials as of Wed. the 4th of Nov. Jade McBride is our new Mayor with 105 votes, Stewart Joseph is a new Council Member with 106 votes, and Jennie Lassen is a new Council Member with 90 vote.

As for the other candidates,

Henry Alexander received 28 votes for Mayor
Michell Tenny received 8 votes for Mayor

Norma Hershy received 45 votes for Council
Denise Muse received 40 votes for Council

There are still two chairs open on Town Council, and I believe the Mayor gets to appoint them, but I am not positive.

There has been a lot of controversy over the dismissible of Pat Jensen from the Planning and Zoning Chair, and I would like to know everyone's thoughts and views on it. Also about the fact that two other council members resigned because of it.

so everyone knows why we closed,the rent was to high for what was promised,and "pat on P/Z HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT! it was between the owners of the building and us,there was some building issues that had to do with it also,fill free to call or stop by if anyone has any ???? look for us to open at a new location

well someones dog came onto our yard on wensday and killed 8 of or chickens,mac came over and took a report,this piss's me off to no end!we raised them from chicks and they just started to lay eggs,this dog will come back,and i will put this dog down,if this is your dog "MAN UP" 30$ A CHICKEN and put the dog down!

The Park equipment is on its way to Big Water. When it arrives the town will need volunteers to help put the pieces together.
There is also a ballot going out with the water bill for anyone interested to vote on a name for the park.
The town wants as many people as possible to feel they have a say and a part in the park. There has already been some very dedicated volunteers working hard to get it to this point. Now what we need are some people who want to help with the equipment set up. Please call the town offices or Dave Morissette at the Glen Canyon Special Service District office if you would like to volunteer.

music festival

WOW. What a great time. It sure was nice to see people get together and enjoy themselves. From what I can tell the First Annual Big Water Music Festival was a big hit. The music was fantastic, the company was great. Kane County Sheriff came for a quick visit, but there was no one that needed his attention. Marshal Trujillo was on hand all evening just in case. I was there and saw some local people I have not seen in a long time. Good to see everyone and cant wait to do it again.

Thank you Monument Disposal for furnishing dumpsters and opening the dump on Earth Day. I saw two cars and a boat being hauled away and loads of junk.

A dog was shot on Friday March 20th between the hours of 3:00 and 6:00 p.m. on Lexington Street.

There is a $100.00 dollar reward being offered for any information that leads to an arrest in this shooting.

If you have any information please contact one of the Marshals at 675-3760 during business hours, or call Kane County Dispatch at 435 644 2349 and they will get a message to the Marshal.

From what I hear, the property for the park has finally been deeded to the town permanently---after much hassle with SITLA as you can imagine. Now it is time to start getting together money, people, time, and ideas for the park project. It sure would be nice if we could end this summer with a big bar-b-que to celebrate all the hard workt that has been done!!!! If you can help make this happen, please stop by the town offices and tell Genia what you are willing to do. There is a need for grant writing, back-hoe work, lanscaping, planning, engineering, and much more. I know there are some very talented people in this town that have not been tapped yet, so dont be shy....help us out!!!! Our kids need this!!!!

does anyone know the REAL story of the Plat A survey and lot consolidation?? I thought the survey was done two years ago to fix some sort of clerical error on the map. Now it is about lot consolidations and roads onto private property. What the heck????
